Charlie Lee is a computer scientist who is best known for creating Litecoin in October 2011. Lee continues to server as managing director of the Litecoin Foundation. Lee released Litecoin after becoming interested in Bitcoin, but intended the currency to be used for smaller transactions rather than seen as a competitor. Lee is also brothers with Ballet founder, Bobby Lee.
Lee attracted some controversy after announcing he had sold 100% of his own LTC in 2017, citing a “conflict of interest.”
