Mike Caldwell is a software engineer known for minting physical Bitcoin coins in 2011, known as “Casascius coins.” The coins are made of brass with each containing a unique Bitcoin address. The coins are no longer produced after Caldwell received a cease and desist order from the US Treasury in 2013. Because of this, Casascius coins are now highly collectible among cryptocurrency enthusiasts.
