Airdrops are a common way crypto projects distribute their initial tokens to worthy crypto users. In the early days of crypto, airdrops went out to every user of a blockchain and were seen as “free money”, but in recent years airdrops are more targeted, being distributed only to users who interact with their project and help spread the word.
For example, early users of the Arbitrum Network could claim ARB tokens as part of their airdrop and early Ethereum Name Service users received and ENS token Airdrop.
