Craig Wright is an Australian computer scientist who, in 2016, (in)famously gained notoriety by claiming he was on the development team for Bitcoin and was, in fact, Satoshi Nakamoto himself. Wright has failed to provide cryptographic proof he is Satoshi, and his claims are largely considered to be false by the crypto community. For several years, Wright has been involved in an unsuccessful legal battle to prove his outlandish claims.
