Changpeng Zhao (CZ)

Changpeng Zhao, more commonly known as CZ, is the co-founder and former CEO of Binance. CZ is credited with growing Binance rapidly within months and launched the Binance coin (BNB) in 2017. By April 2019, Binance had launched the Binance Smart Chain and projects flooded to the platform.

In 2023, the SEC announced it was suing CZ and Binance for several violations of US securities laws. And in November 2023, CZ stepped down as CEO as part of a $4B settlement with the US Department of Justice.
