Gavin Andresen, also known as Gavin Bell, is a software developer recognized for being a major contributor to the bitcoin digital currency project. Andresen first discovered Bitcoin in 2010 and subsequently created a website called The Bitcoin Faucet which gave away free bitcoin. Andresen worked closely with Satoshi Nakamoto and became a lead developer for the Bitcoin network.

Andresen has experienced some controversy in the crypto community by initially confirming Craig Wright’s claims of being Satoshi. In addition, Andresen has expressed his support for Bitcoin’s rival currency, Bitcoin Cash.
